Question

Static resistance = V/I = 1/ tan(theta) ....how has this relation come ..I just wanted to know where did the relation between tan(theta) come from ?

Solution

The VI graph is generally plotted with I on Y axis and V on X axis. If the given system has a static resistance the graph is a straight line and slope given by delta(V)/delta(I). In mathamtics this is also given by tan theta where theta is slope of line in VI graph where V on Y and I on X. thus here resisrance is 1/tan(theta)
