Question

Shouldgeitonogamybe categorised as self pollination or cross pollination ?

Open in App
Solution

Geitonogamy is a kind of pollination in which the pollen grains are transferred from the anther of a flower to the stigma of another flower on the same plant. So it is functionally similar to cross pollination and genetically similar to autogamy because the pollen grains (gametes) come from the same parent plant.
