(1) In the given diagram,
A- Anode
B- Cathode
In electrolytic cell, cathode is negatively charged electrode connected to the negative terminal of the battery and anode is positively charged electrode connected to the positive terminal of the battery.
(2)
In electrolytic cell, the electrode at which oxidation takes place is called anode.
Thus,Electrode (A) is the oxidising electrode.
