Amino acids are amphoteric because it has both basic amine group and an acidic carboxylic acid group. The net charge on the zwitter ion is zero. It behaves as acid and base both. It exist as dipolar ion. The hydrogen ion is transferred from amine group to a carboxylic acid group. Carboxyl group is able to lose a proton and the amine group is able to accept a proton.
All amino acids are not essential for our body rather some are non- essential amino acids which are synthesized inside the body.
So, the correct answer is option A.
