Most cars use fossil fuel like petroleum and diesel. Few power plants which generate electricity also use fossil fuel. Among the gases given out after combustion, carbon dioxide (20%contribution) causes global warming. Other causes of global warming are water vapour (60%) and methane (5%). These gases are called greenhouse gases.
