i. Concentrated H2SO4 is a drying agent.

i. Concentrated H2SO4 is used for drying gases like sulphur dioxide (SO2) and hydrogen chloride (HCl) during their laboratory preparation. Thus, concentrated H2SO4 can also be used as a drying agent.
ii. Concentrated sulphuric acid reacts with salts like sodium nitrate to product nitric acid as follows
NaNO3+H2SO4NaHSO4+HNO3
This reaction is used to prepare nitric acid in the laboratory.
