Let Anu invested for $x$ months

Profit ratio of Sumit and anu,

$\Rightarrow 9\times 8:12\times x$

$\Rightarrow 72:12x$

Total profit earned by them $=3000$ Rs.

Profit earned by Sumit $=1000$ Rs.

$\therefore$ Profit earned by Anu $=1000$ Rs.

Profit ratio

$\Rightarrow 1000:2000$

$\Rightarrow 1:2$

As two ratios are equal we get,

$\Rightarrow \frac{72}{12x}=\frac{1}{2}$

$\Rightarrow x=6\times 2$

$\Rightarrow x=12$

Thus Anu invested for $12$ months
