Final weight of the tea leaves can be found by subtracting the weight of
1/2 lb from the weight of leaves before being dried.

Initial weight of the leaves before drying =
214 =94 lb

On the number line, this lies between 2 and 3, and 1 part out of 4 parts i.e.,


the weight reduced by drying = 12 lb
The equivalent of 12 is 24 lb

Subtracting it from the initial weight, we get:
Final weight =94 12

=94 24
