Thallophyta , Bryophyta and Peridophyta are known as cryptogams because the reproductive organ of these groups are inconspicuous
and seeds are generally absent.
Gymnosperm and angiosperm are known as Phenerogams because they have well differentiated reproductive tissue and the embryo with stored food there embryo basically develops in to seed.
