Extinction is the complete demise of a species. It takes place when all individuals of a species die out. Human activities occur at a faster rate and cause higher extinction rates. Anthropogenic Extinction is the extinction of species due to human activities like settlements, hunting, pollution, over-exploitation and habitat destruction. Many species are getting extinct due to deforestation, especially because of the rapid destruction of forests. The rapid increase in global temperatures in the past 100 years, combined with ocean acidification, heavy metal contamination, and ozone depletion caused by human activities have caused 99.9% of all of Earth's species to go extinct.
