Question

The antibiotic penicillin does not allow the formation of cell wall in bacterium cell. This causes death of the cell. So can it be said that bacteria cannot be alive without a cell wall? If so, then how come mycoplasma, a bacterium be alive without a cell wall?

Dear mycoplasma is a exception. Also mycoplasma is mostly parasitic in nature, it means mostly it lives in controlled environment of other cells. So doesn't require a cell wall for must purpose. Also they a tough membrane which allow them to survive even without wall.
