The area of a square of side 16 cm is the same as that of a rectangle of length 32 cm. Find its breadth.

As we know that,
Area of square =a2
Here a is the length of side of square.

Therefore,
Area of given square =162=256cm2
Length of rectangle =32cm

Area of rectangle = Area of square (Given)
Therefore,
Area of rectangle =l×b

b×32=256
b=25632=8cm
Hence the breadth of rectangle is 8cm.
