The correct option is C N = 158, R = 8 sq. ft
Total area of the garden =1430 sq.ft
Area of each flower bed =9 sq.ft.
∴ Total number of flower beds will be =1430÷9

Calculating 1430÷9 by box method,


The final quotient will be 158 and the raminder left is 8.

Hence, the total number of flower beds in the garden is 158.

As the remainder of 1430÷9 is 8, the remaining area in the garden without any flower bed will be 8 sq.ft
