The correct option is C 0.048
Given: Molar mass of oxygen = 32
Molar mass of nitrogen= 28
Kinetic energy of oxygen molecules= 0.048 eV
Solution: The average translational energy for any gas is given by,
E=32KT
where, K is Boltzmann constant and T is the temperature.
From the above equation we conclude that energy is directly proportional to the temperature.
As, according to the question temperature is same for the nitrogen gas,
So the kinetic energy for nitrogen is also same as that of oxygen. i.e. 0.048 eV
Hence, the correct option is (C).
