Solution

Tina's weight =16 kilogram.
Suppose the weight of Sita is x kilogram
.weight of Tina is y kilogram
Given that, ratio of Sita and Tina's weight is 15:8
So,xy=158 ........(1)
Combined weight of Sita and Tina =x+y
x+y= Average weight ×Number of persons
x+y=23×(3937)=23×2=46
By solving both the equation:x+y=46 ......(2) we get
From (2) we have x+y=46
y(xy+1)=46
y(158+1)=46 from (1)
23y8=46
y=46×823=2×8=16
y=16kgs and we have from (2)x+y=46
x=46y=4616=30kgs
Hence, weight of Tina is 16kgs
