The catalogue price of a computer set is Rs. 42,000. The shopkeeper given a discount of 10% on the listed price. He further gives an off-season discount of 5% on the discounted price. However, sales tax at 8% is charged on the remaining price after the two successive discounts. Find:
(i) the amount of sales tax a customer has to pay
(ii) the total price to be paid by the customer for the computer set.

Catalogue price of computer =42,000
Discount price (10%) 42000×90100=37,800
Further off season discount (5%) =37,800×95100
=35,910
(i) Tax to be payed (8%) 35,910×8100
2872.8
(ii) Total price to be payed 35910×108100=38782.8.
