A 5C sugar ribulose 1-5- bisphosphate (RuBP) acts as a $C O_{2}$ acceptor in $C_{3}$ plants. RuBP accepts the $C O_{2}$ and splits into the 3-Carbon compound - 3-PGA which forms the primary anabolic product the triose sugar G-3-P or glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate.
