The correct order of movement of molecules on the basis of rate of diffusion for solid, liquid and gas is:
Gases > Liquids > Solids
The rate of diffusion depends upon the intermolecular spaces and intermolecular force between the molecules. Gases have large intermolecular spaces and least intermolecular forces. So, they have a very fast rate of diffusion. Comparing solids and liquids, intermolecular forces are greater in solids and molecules are bound tightly together. So, their rate of diffusion is less than liquids. So the rate of diffusion is in order of Gases > Liquids > Solids.
