After the partition of Bengal between India and Pakistan the Siliguri Corridor was created in 1947. The Siliguri Corridor is a narrow stretch of land of about 22 kilometres width. It is located in he Indian state of West Bengal, that connects India's northeastern states to the rest of India. Nepal and Bangladesh lies on either side of the corridor.
