Solution

The correct option is D 20 in2

Curved surface area of a frustum cone = π(r + R)s 34.7 in2

Total surface area of a frustum of cone = π(r + R)s + πr2 + πR2 70.5 in2

Smaller circle area = πr2 15.8 in

Larger circle area = πR2 ?

Therefore,
SA = π(r + R)s + πr2 + πR2

70.5 = 34.7 + Area of larger circle + 15.8

70.5 - 34.7 - 15.8 = Area of larger circle

Area of larger circle of a frustum cone = 20 in2
