The cylindrical tube of a spray pump has a cross-section 5 cm2, one end of which has 50 fine holes, each of area 108 m2. If the liquid flows inside the tube with a speed of 0.3 m/min, then find the speed with which the liquid is ejected through the holes.

The correct option is B 5 m/s
Given, area of tube A1=5 cm2
Area of one fine hole =108 m2
So, area of 50 holes A2=50×108 m2
Speed of liquid inside the tube,
v1=0.3 m/min
v1=0.360 m/s
Let the speed of liquid through the holes =v2
Applying equation of contitnuity,
A1v1=A2v2
(5×104)×0.360=(50×108)×v2
v2=5 m/s
