The difference between the circumference and radius of a circle is 37 cm. Using π=227, find the circumference of the circle.

Open in App
Solution

Let r be the radius of circle.
Difference between circumference and radius of circle = 37 cm
Circumference of circle = 2 π r
= 2 × 227 × r = 447 × r
Now,
Difference between circumference and radius of circle = 2 π r - r
37 = 447 × r - r
37 = r(447-1)
37 = r(4477)
37 = 377 × r
37 × 737 = r
r = 7 cm
Now , Circumference of circle = 447 × r
= 447 × 7
= 44 cm .
∴ Circumference of circle = 44 cm
