The difference between the circumference and radius of a circle is 37cm. Using π=227 , find the circumference of the circle. [CBSE 2013]

Let the radius of the circle be r and circumference C.

Now,
C-r=372πr-r=37r2×227-1=37r=37×737=7 cm
Now, C=2πr=2×227×7=44 cm
Hence, the circumference of the circle is 44 cm.
