The discriminant of the given quadratic equation is
$\sqrt{3} x^{2} - 2 \sqrt{2} x - 2 \sqrt{3} = 0$

$\sqrt{3} x^{2} - 2 \sqrt{2} x - 2 \sqrt{3} = 0$
$\Rightarrow$ $a = \sqrt{3}, b = - 2 \sqrt{2}, c = - 2 \sqrt{3}$
$\Rightarrow$ $D = b^{2} - 4 a c$
$= (- 2 \sqrt{2})^{2} - 4 (\sqrt{3}) (- 2 \sqrt{3})$
$= 8 + 24$
$= 32$
$∴$ $D i s c r i m i n a n t = 32$
