No. Though the moving object comes back to its initial position the distance travelled is not zero.An object can have zero displacement even when it has moved through a distance. This happens when final position of the object coincides with its initial position. For example, suppose an object starts from point A and after covering a distance of say 50 meters, reaches point B. Then it turns back and comes to point A.
Here, distance covered by the object = AB + BA = 50 m + 50 m = 100 m
While displacement of the object = 0 (As final position is same as initial position)
