Question

the distance between a convex lens and plane mirror is 10 cm. the parallel rays incident on the convex lens after reflection from the mirror form an image at the optical centre of the lens.find the focal length of the lens.

Solution

We know lens formula , 1f=1v-1uthe distance between lens and the plane mirror is 10cm.the image distance from the lens is v=0 , after reflection from the mirror. So u = -10cm putting these values in the formula of lens, 1f=10-1-10or f =10cm. 1/0 means image is forming at infinity after reflection.
