Given that,
Radius of circle Ist =R1=9cm
Radius of circle IInd =R2=4cm
Distance between two centres of two circles=13cm
Find:- Common tangent=?
Then, We know that,
D2=72(R1R2)2
where T=tangent
D=distance
R1 and R2 be the radii of two circles.
So, D2=T2(R1R2)2
(13)2=T2(94)2
169=T252
16925=T2
T2=144
T2=122
T=12cm
Hence, the common tangent=12cm.
