a. Gandhiji made spinning on charkha and the daily use of khadi as a symbol of resistance from the english rule.
b. It is also a resistance to british mill made cloths.
c. In Durban in 1913, Gandhiji first appeared in a lungi and kurta with his head shaved as a sign of protests against the shooting of indian coal miners.
d. After adopting the short dhoti at the non cooperation movement, he discarded his topi as well as vest temporarily but soon he realised his duty to the poor and never wore any other dress.
e. In 1934 when he went to England for the saved table conference, he just wore his dhoti without shirt infront of king George V.
