Solution

The correct option is B

speed

Step 1: Given data

An expression of a physical quantity is given,

Tμ

Where T is given as force, T=ma

μ is the value of mass per unit length, μ=mL

Substituting the value of T and μ we get,

=mass×accelerationmasslength-------------(1)

Step 2: Calculation of the dimensional formula

The dimensional formula for mass is [M]

The dimensional formula for acceleration is, a=ms2=[L][T]2=[LT-2]

The dimensional formula for length is,L=[L]

Substituting these dimensional formula in equation (1) we get,

=[M][LT-2][M][L]

=[L2][T2]=[L][T]=[L][T-1]

So, the dimensional representation of a given quantity is[L][T-1] it is the dimensional formula of speed

So, Tμis the expression for the physical quantity velocity or speed

Hence,

Option (b) is correct
