The figure below shows an aero plane of mass 3.4 × 10^5kg accelerating uniformly from rest along a runway. After 26 s it reaches a speed of 65 m/s.Calculate the resultant force on the aero plane.

Dear student,

Acceleration = change in velocity / Time
= v- u/ t
​​​​​​v is the final velocity,
u is the initial velocity
t s the time taken
a = 65m s-1 - 0 / 26s
= 65 / 26 = 2.5 m s-2

Force = mass x accelaration
Mass = 3.4 x 105 kg
Force = 3.4 x 105 Kg x 2.5 ms-2
= 8.5 x 106 N

The resultant force is 8.5 x 106 N
