Solution

The correct option is D The magnitude of current flowing through R2 is 1.2 A.
Given circuit as

Point A and B are at same potential so they can be merged/folded.

For loop 1

12x12(x+y)x+6=0

2xy2=6

4xy=12

4x+y=12 ...(1)

For loop 2

12y+1y+12+12(x+y)=0

32y+y2+x2=12

2y+x2=12

4y+x=24 ...(2)
Now solving both the equations obtained above, we have

4y+x16x4y

=2448

15x=72

x=7215

4(7215)+y=12

y=1228815

=18028815

=10815=7.2 A

Current in R1=7.2 A

Current in R2=x+y2=(721510815)12

=12(3615)=2.42 A=1.2 A

Current in R3=x=4.8 A

Current in R5=12x=2.4 A.
Hence, all the options are correct.
