Solution

Finding the cost of the carpet

Length of the hall is =18m

Breadth of the hall is =15m

So,

Area of the hall =length×breadth

=18×15=270sq.m

According to the question, floor is to be covered with carpet. So,

Area of the carpet = Area of the rectangular hall

Therefore, area of the carpet =270sq.m

But area =length×width

Width of the carpet =0.75m

So, length =areaWidth

=2700.75=360m (27075×100=27075×100=90×4=360)

Cost of the carpet per meter =6

Cost of the carpet of length 360m=360×6=2160

Hence, cost of the carpet is 2160 .
