Solution

The correct option is B 11

Given,

Separation between lense,L=21.7cm,

Focal length of eye piece, L=21.7cm,fe=2.5cm

Focal length of objective lens,f0=1.6cm,v0=19.2cm,u0=?

L=v0+fe

Where L is the length of the microscope and fe e the focal length of the objective

Substituting we get:

21.7=v0+2.5

v0=21.72.5=19.2cm

According to lens formula we know that:

1f0=1v01u0

v0=19.2cm,u0=?

11.6=119.21u0

1u0=11.6119.2

1u0=101610192

1u0=12010192=110192

u0=192110cm=1.75cm

Magnification, m=vu=19.21.75=10.97=11

Hence, linear magnification is 11
