The following figure shows a parallelogram ABCD whose side AB is parallel to xaxis, A=60o and vertex C=(7,5). Find the equations of BC and CD.

Given C(7,5) and BAD=60

consider th problem.
DAB=CBE

Hence, CBE=60 (corresponding angles of parallelogram ABCD)

Now, slope for the line BC(m)=tan60=3

Therefore, equation for the line BC by point-slope formula.

yy1=m(x=x1)

y5=3(x7)

y=3x+573

Now, for equation of line CD

Slope (m1)=tan0=0, and passing through the points (7,5)

yy1=m1(xx1)

y5=0(x7)

y=5

Hence the equation of sides BC and CD are y=3x+573 and y=5 respectively.
