(iii) What are the conditions under which the two reactions (a) and (b) are occurring?

  • Aerobic respiration needs oxygen for the complete oxidation of a glucose molecule and the energy released is much larger than anaerobic respiration.
  • Anaerobic respiration takes place in the absence of oxygen and the energy released by breaking a glucose molecule is very less.
