Given, maximum hours for which food remains in the stomach = 4
We know that 1 day = 24 hours
$∴$ The fraction of a day for which food remains in the stomach = $\frac{4 h o u r s}{24 h o u r s} = \frac{4 \div 4}{24 \div 4} = \frac{1}{6}$ ( $∵$ The HCF of 4 and 24 is 4)
So, the food remains in the stomach for $\frac{1}{6}$ part of the day.
