The formation of a zygote requires:
Female gamete
A male and a female gamete fuse together during fertilisation to form a zygote. The zygote's genome is a combination of the DNA in each gamete, and contains all of the genetic information necessary to form a new individual. While it is possible that several egg cells are present and fertilized, typically only one zygote will develop into a mature embryo as the resources within the seed are limited.
