Solution

The correct option is A 2512km
Distance between cities A and D = 3 km

Distance between cities A and B = 412km

Distance between cities B and C = 712km

Calculate the distance between cities C and D.

So, let's add the distance between cities A and C
=(412+712)km

As the denominators of the fractions are same, the numerators can be added directly and the denominator remains same.

=4+712 (like fractions)

=1112km

To find the distance between cities C and D, subtract 1112 from 3.

Now, make an equivalent fraction of 3 with denominator 12.

Distance between cities C and D = =(36121112)km

As the denominators of the fractions are same, so the numerators can be subtracted directly and denominator remains same.

=361112 (like fractions)

=2512km

Hence, the distance between cities C and D is 2512km.
