Solution

The correct option is A ₹96.28

Let the external and internal radii of hemisphere be r1 and r2 respectively.

r1=12.5 cm, r2=12 cm

Surface area to be painted = Curved surface area of external hemisphere + Curved surface area of internal hemisphere + Area of ring

=2π(r1)2+2π(r2)2+π(r21r22)

=2×227[(12.5)2+(12)2]+227[(12.5)2(12)2]

=447[156.25+144]+227[156.25144]

=227[600.5+12.25]

=227×612.75

=1925.78 cm2

Cost for painting 1 cm2 area = ₹0.05

⇒ Cost for painting 1925.78 cm2 = ₹1925.78 × 0.05

= ₹96.28

Hence, the correct answer is option (a).
