The correct option is A hc/λ
Einstein equation for photoelectric effect : KE=hcλW

where KE= kinetic energy of the photoelectrons , h=Planck's constant , c= velocity of light and λ= wavelength incident light and W= work function of metal.

When KE=E, then E=2hcλW...(1)

and when KE=2E, then 2E=3hcλW...(2)

Using (1) , (2) becomes , 2(2hc/λW)=3hcλW

or W=hcλ
