Solution

The correct option is B A gamete receiving only one of the two homologous chromosomes during meiosis

Mendel stated that, each factor in a pair separate during gamete formation by means of meiosis, so that each gamete receives only one factor for each character. Chromosomal theory of Inheritance stated that, in the living organisms, Chromosomes exists in pairs. These are called Homologous chromosomes. During sexual reproduction, homologous chromosomes in each pair separate by the process of meiosis. Due to this, each gamete receives only one homologous chromosome of a pair, for each character.

So, it is similar to the Mendel postulate i.e. Law of segregation.

So, the correct option is ‘A gamete receiving only one of the two homologous chromosomes during meosis.
