Solution

.The breakdown of the large molecules into smaller units with the help of micro organisms like bacteria is called decaying of matter or decomposition.

.Any matter or leaves when placed in water for long gets decomposed easily.

.Submerged plants are those which stay below the surface of water and stay completely in water still they do not decay as they contain waxy coating on the surface of leaves.

.Waxy coating is made of carbon which do not dissolve in water and hence, they remain dry though they are placed inside water bodies.
