The length and breadth of a rectangular field are 20 m and 15 m. Find the total distance traveled by a boy who has completed two rounds along the boundary of the field.
140 m
Given: The field is rectangular in shape
Length of the field = 20 m
Breadth of the field = 15 m
When the boy is moving along the boundary, he covers the distance equal to the perimeter of the rectangular field.
Perimeter of a rectangle = 2( length + breadth)
⇒ Perimeter of the rectangular field = 2×( 20 m + 15 m ) = 2 × 35 m
= 70 m
So the boy will cover a distance of 70 m in one round.
Hence in two rounds, he will cover 2 × 70 i.e. 140 m.
