The length of a rectangle is 5cm longer than the breadth and it's peimeter is 150 cm. Find the area of the rectangle.

The correct option is D 1400sq.cm
Given: Perimeter = 150cm
Let the length of the rectangle be x.
Breadth =x5
We know that perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b)
Perimeter =2(x+x5)=2(2x5)=4x10
4x10=1504x=160x=40
Thus, Length of the rectangle =40 and breadth =35
Therefore, Area =35×40=1400sq.cm.
