Given: Perimeter = 150cm
Let the length of the rectangle be $x$ .
Breadth $= x - 5$
We know that perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b)
Perimeter $= 2 (x + x - 5) = 2 (2 x - 5) = 4 x - 10$
$\Rightarrow 4 x - 10 = 150 \Rightarrow 4 x = 160 \Rightarrow x = 40$
Thus, Length of the rectangle $= 40$ and breadth $= 35$
Therefore, Area $= 35 \times 40 = 1400 s q . c m .$
