The length of a rectangle is 6cm more than its breadth. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 60cm, find its length and breadth. Also find its area.

Dear student
let breadth be x therefore length is x +6
formula of perimeter of rectangle = 2*length + 2*breadth
perimeter is 2x + 2(x+6) =60
2x+2x+12 = 60
4x+12 = 60
4x = 60-12
4x = 48
x= 48/4
x= 12
therefore x= 12
length = 18 cm breadth =12cm
area =l*b = 18*12 = 216 sq cm
