Question

The length ,width and height of a wall are 50m , 80cm and 4.5m respectively. 1/9th of its volume is mortar. Find the number of bricks in it if the dimension of each brick is 25cm * 10cm * 4cm.

Length of wall=50m
width of wall=80cm=0.8m
height of wall=4.5m
volume of mortar =1/9 of vloume of wall=1/9(50*0.8*4.5)
=20m^3
Dimensions of brick,
Length =25cm=0.25m
width =10cm=0.1m
height =4cm=0.04m
volume of a brick=0.25*0.1*0.04
=0.001m^3
Therefore no.of bricks in mortar=Volume of a morta/Voume of brick
= 20/0.001
=20000 bricks
