Given - PX : YQ = 4 : 5 and XY : YQ = 1 : 5

$\therefore$ PX : XY : YQ = 4 : 1 : 5

Let PX be 4x, XY be x and YQ be 5x.

Length of PQ = 4x + x + 5x = 10x = 30 cm

$\Rightarrow$ x = $\frac{30}{10}$ = 3 cm
