Stomatal transpiration
The loss of water in the form of water vapour through the stomata of leaves is known as stomatal transpiration. Stomata are pores in the leaves through which the exchange of water vapour, carbon dioxide and oxygen takes place. When stomata are open the transpiration rate increases and when they are closed the transpiration rate decreases.
