The magnitude of induced EMF is maximum, when the plane of the armature of AC dynamo is ________.

Solution

Induced Electromotive Force (EMF):

  • Induced Electromotive Force can be defined as the potential difference generated in a coil when there is any change in the magnetic flux passing through it. Mathematically it is expressed as, ε=Ndϕdt, where N is number of turns in coil and dϕdt is the rate of change of magnetic flux.
  • This EMF can be generated either by placing an electric conductor in a moving magnetic field or by inserting a continuously moving electric wire in a static magnetic field.
  • The rate of change of magnetic flux is greatest when the plane of armature is parallel to the lines of force of magnetic field.

Hence, the magnitude of induced EMF is maximum, when the plane of the armature of AC dynamo is parallel to the lines of force of magnetic field.
