Solution

The correct option is A 81
The pirates have to make the mask of the ship of length 6 km 885 m.
Each fabric piece measure =85 m.

∴ To get number of fabric pieces, divide 6 km 885 m by 85 m.

First converting 6 km 885 m to m,
6 km 885 m =6×1000 m+885 m
6 km 885 m =6885 m.

So, here,
Divisor = 85
Dividend = 6885

Let's write 6885 in expanded form.
6885 = 6000 + 800 + 80 + 5

Now, solving the division process using box method,

You got partial quotients as:
70 , 10 , 0 and 1

∴ Final quotient will be:
70 + 10 + 0 + 1 =81

So, the pirates will require 81 pieces to make the mast of the ship.
